What’s new in the CognoSpeak project? The diabetes workshop

We are happy to announce that on the 20th of July, the last instalment of the health workshops delivered in the Israac Somali Community Association took place. This time the audience had a chance to listen to Dr Dinesh Selvarajah and Dr. Khalid Abdirahman talk about diabetes and diet health.

This was the last health workshop instalment of the co-evaluation project - the sister project to CognoSpeak which aimed to evaluate the impact of working together between the organisations and the community.

We are grateful for both of the speakers for sharing their knowledge and time with the audience and we are impressed with the community members for being so involved in the workshops, particularly those who asked questions and shared their experiences on the matter. Our Community Research Associate Sahra Abdi provided excellent translation to the second half of the workshop and the Devices for Dignity lead and officer helped to organise the event.

We are excited to see what the results of these efforts will be and are grateful for the opportunity to work with such an involved community.

The last part of the project will be the screening of the video produced. We will be sure to share it with our wider audience.

Thank you for taking this time to read the update on our project and as always, feel free to reach out to our team members if you have any questions.
